Oregon Law Enforcement Invites You To Polar Plunge!

Take the plunge! We dare you!

Polar Plunge is Special Olympics Oregon’s most unique and daring fundraising event, and we invite you join the tradition! Individuals and teams, alongside Special Olympics athletes, law enforcement volunteers and hundreds of community members experience heartwarming and bone chilling extremes as they take the plunge into icy Oregon waters in the height of winter!

The tradition began in 2007 when 190 brave souls plunged into the Deschutes River. Since then, nearly 3,500 people have taken the plunge in Bend, Portland, Medford, Eugene and Corvallis.

Every Polar Plunge event is open to the public; participants must raise a minimum of $50, while spectators watch for free. Proceeds from Polar Plunge Oregon will go towards Special Olympics Oregon’s mission: to deliver sports training and athletic competition to thousands of athletes in local communities state-wide during the winter, summer and fall sports seasons.

Polar Plunge Oregon is a Law Enforcement Torch Run (LETR) event. LETR is the largest grass roots fundraising effort for Special Olympics. Polar Plunges in Oregon could not have happened without the tremendous support of Law Enforcement from around the state.

Law Enforcement made this event happen, and we are so incredibly grateful:
Albany Police Department, Benton County Sheriff’s Office, Bend Police Department, Corvallis Police Department, Eugene Police Department, Lane County Sheriff’s Office, Linn County Sheriff’s Office, Lebanon Police Department, Medford Police Department, Multnomah County Sheriff’s Office, Oregon Air National Guard, Port of Portland Police Department, Portland Police Bureau, Springfield Police Department, Troutdale Police Department.
